Recently, TIME Magazine nominated Dominica in the “Keeping the Caribbean Beautiful” category in the world’s most extraordinary travel destinations competitions. Additionally, The magazine applauded the country’s goal to be the world’s first climate-resilient nation by 2030.

The Boiling Lake

One of Dominica’s main attractions is the world’s second-largest flooded fumarole, the Boiling Lake. It’s located in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, which itself, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Soufriere Scotts Head Marine Reserve

Scuba diving in Soufriere Scott’s Head Marine Reserve is a must if that’s something you enjoy. The reserve has been rated as one of the world’s top ten diving destinations and boasts a kaleidoscope of coral reefs. Essentially, divers can explore the underwater sea life of the island’s reefs.

Trafalgar Falls

Trafalgar Falls is one of the island’s most visited locations. The twin waterfalls can be photographed from a platform, which is a 10 to 15-minute walk away. Visitors may choose to swim in the cool waters or the hot springs from one of the waterfalls.

Minister Charles is determined to get Dominica to become the number one tourist destination in the world. The island nation is also known as the ‘Nature Isle of the Caribbean’ with rich cultural heritage, immaculate beach views and lush green forestry. Speaking on DBS Radio’s ‘Focus on Government and Development’, a programme which addresses tourism industry affairs, Minister Charles mentioned that the Covid-19 pandemic made tourists more environmentally conscious and understand the importance of nature, which is an advantage for Dominica advocating for eco-tourism.

Subsequently, the Ministry of Tourism launched a campaign to attract more visitors and promote Dominica as the ultimate travel destination in the world. The campaign focuses on all that Dominica has to offer; adventurous land and water activities, festivals, and luxurious accommodation.

Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Programme

The country’s tourism industry is seeing growth thanks to support from the government, “leadership is everything, and we are seeing the gains now, but the development of the tourism industry started several years ago under the Dominica Labour Party administration through the re-engineering of the Citizenship by Investment Programme, which focuses on hotel accommodation development, and for the first time, in 2019, we had the first luxury resort.” stated Minister Charles.

Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme has positively impacted the island’s economy and benefitted investors who are actively seeking second citizenship through the investment migration programme.

The CBI Programme has two investment options that investors can select from, which are the Economic Diversification Fund and Real Estate.

The Economic Diversification Fund

The Economic Diversification Fund investment option focuses on supporting public and private sector projects, which involve agricultural, information technology and tourism initiatives, building and renovating education and healthcare facilities, and developing the national sports stadium. Hon. Charles highlighted the development of infrastructure improves accessibility to destinations. The Economic Diversification Fund’s minimum contribution of US$100,000 for a single applicant, there are additional due diligence and processing fees.

Real Estate

Real Estate investments include government-approved property that investors may select to invest into. Minimum contributions from US$200,000 with additional due diligence, government, and processing fees.
