Dominica’s Prime Minister praises CREAD for resilience framework

The Climate Resilience Execution Agency for Dominica (CREAD) has successfully implemented actions and a framework that have gained the recognition of Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, for making meaningful developments towards resilience on the island.

CREAD is a government agency that aims to make Dominica the first climate-resilient country in the world through strategic initiatives. In building a climate-resilient nation, CREAD supports the advancement of the nation’s response to climate change, economic and infrastructure developments, and the creation of resilient communities.

Prime Minister Skerrit stated that he believes, all things considered, that CREAD has done a remarkable job. He commended how the agency has set the framework in place and taken specific actions towards building resilience within the country.

It has brought tremendous international recognition and attention to Dominica’s efforts and mobilisation of resources and interest in our resilience agenda…

World’s first climate-resilient nation?

Dominica has strategically activated various projects involving creating a climate-resilient nation. “When we speak about resilience we are not only talking about the physical space.”

We are also referring to;

  • our education systems,
  • our forests, and
