Applications from citizens of Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan (not including South Sudan), and Yemen will not be accepted unless the applicant moved out of these ‘restricted countries’ before turning 18, or unless the applicant has maintained a lawful permanent residence outside of these ‘restricted countries’ for a minimum of 10 years and maintains no economic ties to a ‘restricted country.’
How does this update benefit me?
If you are a citizen of Iraq, you can apply under the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Programme without restrictions based on your citizenship of origin. Citizens of one of the restricted countries can apply, but must fulfil strict conditions. These are in addition to the stringent due diligence checks performed by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda on all applicants to ensure that the Programme remains secure and reputable.
